Christian Carlberg graduated from Cornell University, School of Mechanical Engineering, in 1992. He concentrated in robotics and feedback control systems. He managed to include LEGOS as part of his senior design project.

Christian continued his education, part time, at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he received his Masters Degree in engineering in 1995. He concentrated in mechatronics. Mechatronics is a field that combines mechanical systems, control theory, and electronics to make "smart devices".
