08/29/01 Wow, two good fights last night.

If you tuned in you saw that Minion beat Electric Lunch and then you saw OverKill get beat by Biohazard. If you didn't see it, then you can catch the episode again this weekend. Check your local listing.

The Minion/Electric Lunch fight was tough. The trouble with fighting big boxes is that you don't always see the damage. Minion ripped into Electric Lunch in a few places and knocked off a chunk of steel. But Electric Lunch definitely had a LOT of power. It was a close fight which Minion won thanks to Brian Roe's driving ability.

Speaking of tough fights, it's always tough fighting Biohazard. I locked up OverKill's blade in hopes of getting the wedge under Bio's skirts. No dice.
Even though OverKill lost and Minion goes on to the semi-finals, I'm actually very happy with OverKill's performance this season. OverKill won 4 out of 5 fights, bringing its record up to 6 wins and 3 losses over three seasons.

Finally, I want to thank OverKill's two biggest fans and team-mates, Mike and Frank Ballard.

08/28/01 Double Header tonight!

Tonight on BattleBots (Comedy Central 10PM) you can catch Minion vs. Electric Lunch in the quarter finals for super-heavyweights and then you can watch Biohazard vs. OverKill in the semi-finals for heavyweights.

Please tune in.

08/22/01 What a rumble!

Last night BattleBots on Comedy Central showed an exhibition match between Chin-Killa, La Machine, Ginsu, and Dreadnought. We had Jimmy and Adam from the Man Show guest driving for the fight. And what a fight!

Even though Chin-Killa was declared the winner we had a good time putting Dreadnought through this trial by fire. I have posted pictures of the damage we inflicted on Chin-Killa.

I want to thank my sponsor Magic: The Gathering for allowing us to build this great new addition to Team Coolrobots. You can bet Dreadnought will be back for Season 4.

I'm pretty sure Dreadnought is on BattleBots tonight!

According to the Comedy Central website, the ChinKilla/Man-Show exhibition fight is tonight. Dreadnought was thrown into the mix to spice things up and to help take down Jay Leno's hated and feared BattleBot, ChinKilla.

Is ChinKilla's reign of terror ended tonight? You'll have to watch and see for yourself!

08/20/01 Another Robot Fighting Show!

Tonight is the premiere of TNN's Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors. Will it be any good? You will have to watch to find out.

08/17/01
The Magic Worlds Championship was last weekend.

Team-mates Brian Roe, Luke Khnalian and I went to the competition in Toronto, Canada, eh. This is pretty much their super bowl where the top player walks home with $35,000. Wow!

We had a blast demonstrating Dreadnought for all the players. We also had a chance to play some games against the professionals. Luke, Brian and I had a fun time.

One of the coolest things was my chance to play a few games against the grand-daddy and creator of Magic: The Gathering, Richard Garfield.

I beat him one out of three games.
Barely.

08/10/01 Gen-Con was last weekend.

Team-mate Luke Khnalian and I went to Gen-Con 2001 in Milwaukee, WI to demonstrate Toe-Crusher and Dreadnought. Unfortunately, our third team-mate Brian Roe could not make it, but we had a good time anyway. Wizards of the Coast did a little trip report on the demo.

Just a reminder, if you missed the OverKill-M.O.E. fight a couple days ago on Comedy Central you can catch it again this weekend.

08/03/01 The Super Mega-Update

Well, I'm back from my vacation.

I have some catching up to do. For starters, if you have e-mailed me with a question or submitted a robot to the Robot DataBase it will get taken care of!
But feel free to resend your question or your robot information if you want to.

A couple weeks back (7/17) I was on The Today Show with the BattleRat Pack and Ilya's BladeRunner. I've known Ilya for years and it was good to see him in his home state of New York. I just met the BattleRat folks at Treasure Island, but it was great to talk to all of them one-on-one. They are pretty cool guys.

I also got a chance to sit with big boys Trey Roski and Greg Munson during an ABC World News Tonight interview.

Next up, Toe-Crusher's fight with Dr. Inferno Jr. from two weeks ago. Man, what a close fight! 23-22! I'd like to say I was distracted by Lauren's outfit, but it came down to driving ability and I have to admit Jason got the beter of me. Great fight and good job Dr Inferno Jr.

Hey, Minion and OverKill toys are out!!!
You should be able to find them in K-Marts. Well, I hear they are selling fast, so maybe you can't find them on shelves...

My friends at RF Ballard and Son's CNC Shop have updated their shop sign. They are available to help you build your robot parts. Please don't hesitate to call them if you need a part made.
(661) 252-6730 Only serious inquiries, please.

Oh yeah, I bought a mill. It is sweeeeeeeet!

Finally, I will be away next week on business, so let me ask you to tune in to a brand new BattleBots show this Tuesday (8/7) 10 PM on Comedy Central and watch OverKill take on M.O.E. (Marvel of Engineering).
