09/25/01 BattleBots Season 4.0 announced!
There will be another BattleBots season at Treasure Island this November 4 to 11. Considering the quantity and quality of robots last season, I can't wait to see this new season.
If you want to compete in BattleBots Season 4.0 you better register your robot this week.
09/10/01 How cool are the Toro guys?
Zander and Reason sent us the piece of Toro that Minion hit. Wow!

09/05/01 Minion takes second place!
They wrapped up the super-heavyweight division last on BattleBots and although Minion didn't win the "big nut" it did win the "small nut" second place trophy. Minion's record is now 11 wins with 2 losses.
The superheavy wrap-up started with Minion vs Toro. We redesigned Minion with Toro in mind. Team Coolrobots believes that the best defense is a good offense, so we made Minion's weapon more powerful. But just to hedge our bets we also put in a self-righting mechanism. Our first hit on Toro completely disabled their powerful flipper and we fortunately never needed to use our self-righter.
We think Toro is an excellent fighting machine and we're not looking forward to the improvements Zander Rose and Reason Bradley are making.
Our next fight was against Vladiator. Gage Cauchois has been building robots for a long time and even though Vladiator was a new robot, it was going to be a tough fight. Our hope was to hit him hard and break something internal on Valdiator.
We had a lucky break when Vladiator impailed himself onto the spike strips. It allowed us to move in and make some hits. However, the ref told us to back off as the countdown commenced. With a second left Vladiator broke free and the fight was on!
The fight went the distance and the judges awarded Vladiator the victory. Congratulations to Gage and the new Super Heavy Champ, Vladiator.
09/04/01 It's a new month with a new fight tonight.
Please tune in tonight and watch Minion battle the dreaded flipping machine, Toro. This is a semi-final fight between two seasoned robots and it should be good.
